Not just another flashmob
September 16th will go in to history as the day the world met zouk
Zouk dancing is already some twenty years around. But very few people know
about it. That is about to change. On September 16th thousands of zouk dancers from more than 40 countries, in more
than 80 cities will show the world what zouk is about.
Rio de Janeiro, New York, Tokyo, Dubai, Moscow, Sydney, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona,
Prague, and many, many more, will join forces for the biggest flashmob in history. Never before has such a
complex operation been done, on a purely voluntary basis. No companies have been involved. There are no commercial
motives. There is no sponsoring, except for a couple of danceschools who have graciously provided training spaces.
All the people involved are volunteers. There is no commercial or other motive then the love for this
dance.
STATEMENT:
Apart from showing the world how beautiful this dance is, we want to show the world that we can make this happen. People from all over the world, from many countries, many cultures and backgrounds, can work together for a common goal. It doesn't matter where you are from, the colour of your skin, your religion, the language you speak; we all speak the same language in the dance.

If we can make this work, in spite of all the differences in culture, in opinion and
character...then shouldn't we be able to live together on this planet as well? This is not just another
flashmob, it's a manifestation of unity. Of worldwide solidarity crossing all borders.
